Quem poderia acreditar que no dia 25 de setembro de 1987 seriam encontradas cerca de 18 latas boiando no interior do estado do Rio de janeiro. Sabe aquelas latadas clássicas de leite em pó? Então, imagina uma lata daquelas um pouco maior.
As latas foram encontradas por pescadores locais na cidade de Maricá / RJ. Sem saber o ao certo o que tinha dentro das latas, alguns pescadores resolveram levá-las até a polícia.
Para a surpresa de muitos, as latas tinham cerca de 1,5kg de maconha.
E assim começou o verão da lata…
Os canas (policiais) da federal já haviam recebido um comunicado direto dos EUA de que um um tal de Solana Star, um navio que vinha da Austrália, estava de rolé pelo litoral com 22 toneladas de maconha. Em outras palavras, o navio tava regadão!
Vagabundo dentro do barco, boladíssimo de ser pego, jogou as cargas tudo fora. Saíram largando as latas pelo mar.
Eles já sabiam que tavam sendo monitorados e que explanaram.
Ia dar merda! Certeza.
Com o tempo, as latas foram sendo encontradas em vários picos diferentes. A galera do surf foi quem mais se deu bem. Garantiram o beck do verão todo, e do verme.
Pra surpresa de geral, a maconha era de muita qualidade, muito forte. Daquelas que deixa o marquinhos pedindo pra trazer pra ele. É… Essa mesmo, daquela que deixa com a cara magoada, que parece que um helicóptero posou na sua cara!
O mais engraçado que o país estava ainda com restos de uma onda conservadora fortíssima. Era época recente de pós ditadura.
Das cercas de 15 mil latas jogadas no mar, somente cerca de 2000 foram apreendidas. O restante foram capturadas e devidamente usadas por muitas outras pessoas.
A história se espalhava rapidamente entre as pessoas. Era como uma enorme corrente, um verdadeiro telefone sem fio, imagina a quantidade de versões que se espalhavam por aí. Depois de uns anos, muita gente chegou a achar que essa história era uma lenda urbana, que tinha tinha acontecido, de fato.
Mas já existem registros sérios, documentários e livros sobre a história do verão da lata.
Dos tripulantes
Dos tripulantes, somente um ou outro se ferrou. Não se sabe ao certo. Os registros conta que grampearam um com 20 anos, mas esse candango só puxou, de fato, 1 ano de cadeia. Depois conseguiram pegar o comandante da operação.
Há quem diga que a qualidade do fumo influenciou os traficantes daqui. Vagabundo teve que subir o padrão da maconha no país.
